The last veteran appraisal dates from May 2022 and attests to its authenticity as a collector's vehicle.
This Aston Martin V8 Volante is in excellent general condition, except for two cracks on the hood and a small scratch on the driver's door (visible on the pictures). The rest of the bodywork is still in great shape.
The rims are in good condition but the paint is flaking, this can be solved by repainting or removing the paint. The interior is splendid, completely refurbished in an elegant off-white that highlights the woodwork in perfect condition and accentuates the exterior color of the car. As far as the mechanics are concerned, they are in very good condition, as the recent expertise testifies, the only problem encountered was the alternator, which was repaired by a specialist in Zurich.
The car has been restored over the years by different specialists and has always been maintained on time, many invoices are present. Having had few owners, its current owner has owned it for over 20 years. An important file of invoices and documents related to the vehicle is available, as well as documents from previous appraisals.
As a bonus, this car apparently belonged to the German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, this information needs to be investigated further...

It is during the oil crisis that Aston Martin will market its overpowering V8... amazing isn't it? Proof that passion sometimes comes before certain priorities!
The Aston Martin V8 was officially launched in 1972, with numerous engine, power and even body variants. and even body styles followed until 1990 when its successor, the DB7, took up the torch.
Let's take a look at its history since 1972:
The AM V8 (Series 1) is similar to the DBS V8 with a new name after the buyout of the brand by the Company Developments Ltd. Then comes the Series 2, with an update mainly aesthetic.
After that, having difficulties to pass the American anti-pollution standards with for cause the Bosch injection of the V8, the mark is obliged to pass to the carburetors, the series 3 is then born in 1973. In January 1977, the engine is modified to make room for the new one called "Stage 1", this one equipped with new camshafts as well as a new exhaust, developing now 305hp.
After 8 years of absence, the convertible is finally unveiled on the V8 Volante in June 1978.
You certainly know it from the James Bond movie "Killing is not playing", no wonder this one is there, as a Best-Seller of the brand at the time, it had to be there!
The production of the AM V8 was put on pause from the end of 1974 until 1976 because the Company Developments was placed under judicial administration.
