CURRENT CONDITION :

The body is in very good condition, it has no visible rust. The paint has been recently redone. The exterior aesthetic condition is not "perfect", but this is what gives charm to this kind of vehicle.

Inside, the driver's seat has a small tear on the underside of the seat. The passenger seat is in very good condition.

The interior as well as the body being very rough, it is difficult to say more, the pictures speak for themselves.

The roof cover is in excellent condition, there is no tear, no hole, no stain.

The mechanics of the vehicle is in good condition. Mechanically, many expenses have been made, there is nothing to expect. On the chassis side, a few traces of rust are visible, nothing to worry about.

On this type of vehicle, the perfect aesthetic is not sought after because of its experience and its initial use. That's why this little Willys is not new. On the other hand, the mechanics of this one is very healthy and perfectly functional to travel all distances!

The visit and the test of the vehicle is possible, make an appointment by calling us directly.

History of the model

The Willys M38A1 Jeep is an off-road vehicle that was designed for military use. It was produced from 1952 by the Willys-Overland Motor Company for the US Army and was used during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

The M38A1 was an improved version of the Willys M38 Jeep, with a longer chassis for better stability, improved suspension for better handling and increased towing capacity. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder, 2.2-liter gasoline engine and could reach a top speed of approximately 105 km/h.

The Willys M38A1 Jeep was also equipped with various military features, such as front and rear tow hooks, weapons attachment points, a two-speed transfer case for off-road use, and a 24-volt electrical system to power military equipment.

After its production for the military, the M38A1 was used in a variety of civilian applications, including emergency services and public works. Today, it is considered an iconic vehicle in American military history and is prized by classic car collectors and off-road enthusiasts.

The U.S. Army ordered off-road vehicles from Jeep that were to be simple, reliable, agile and fast. Decades later, a troop of American soldiers demonstrated the ease of disassembly and reassembly of the Jeep. In less than 4 minutes, they were able to strip the Willys down to its body, chassis, engine and transmission, driveshaft, axle and wheels, then put it all back together. The result is impressive.
