####History of the model
The Mustang GT Bullitt is distinguished from standard GT models by unique features such as special 18-inch wheels, a grille without fog lamps, a spoilerless trunk and no Ford logos. The car was built at SVT, Ford Group's sports division, and features exclusive Ford Racing equipment, including a Ford Racing X-Pipe exhaust, Ford Racing suspension and bracing system, and a Ford Racing air intake kit. It features the same 315-horsepower, 4.6-liter DOHC 24-valve V8 engine as the standard Mustang GT, but with cosmetic changes such as the legendary dark green colour, lowered suspension and shorter axle ratio. The Mustang GT's fog lights have been removed and replaced with a simple black grille. The 2008 Bullit also features a short shifter, a five-speed manual transmission, a brushed aluminum dashboard and a unique meter face.
But let's go back to the origin of the Mustang! Since its introduction at the 1964 New York World's Fair, the Ford Mustang has become one of the most successful automotive launches in history. Initially based on the Ford Falcon platform, the Mustang has undergone numerous transformations up to its current fifth generation. The car created the class of American "pony cars", sports cars with long bonnets and short rear axles, and inspired competing models such as the Chevrolet Camaro, AMC's Javelin, Chrysler's Plymouth Barracuda and the Dodge Challenger. The Mustang also influenced the designs of imported coupes such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri.
