History :

After its arrival in Switzerland, the car was first owned by the same person, a mechanic, for many years and then sold to a young farmer who sold it to the current owner in 2015 through an auction.

It was completely restored 30 years ago, the engine was completely redone, since then it has always been carefully maintained to this day.

For the little anecdote about this car, it has suffered a flood more than 30 years ago, that's why a complete restoration had to be done.

Additional information :
  • The car has its Passport Fiva
  • Its expertise as a veteran is dated 10.10.2018

Condition of the vehicle

This sublime Delahaye is in a very nice condition, whether it is the exterior, the interior or even the mechanics.

On the outside, the bodywork is covered with a paint that has kept its shine and looks almost new, the bodywork has some scratches, these marks are visible on the pictures. The front headlights chromes are worn and show some rust marks. The front grill is in great condition, as well as the rims which have no imperfections.

The general condition of the car's interior is remarkable, presenting an intact authenticity. The colors blend harmoniously and the seats and headliner are free of tears, stains or discoloration. The rustic wooden dashboard immerses us in a period atmosphere. The pedals have been extended with wooden wedges, one of the ex-owners must have been too small. !

If we look under the vehicle, the wooden chassis is in very good condition, only a few parts show a slight rust.

Mechanically, nothing is to be expected, except to start the engine and go for a ride.

History of the model

Delahaye is a legendary brand in the history of the French automobile. It produced luxury and sports cars that were highly prized by the French elite. The brand was able to adapt to technological changes and developed different models, ranging from two-cylinder to V12. Its cars were also renowned for their refined aesthetics, inspiring the greatest coachbuilders of the time. The brand's cars won numerous awards in the world of competition, earning their letter of nobility. They were also chosen for the racing scenes in French films of the 1930s and 1940s. Delahaye made its mark on the history of the French automotive industry, attracting the attention of the world's greatest car enthusiasts and inspiring a generation of car designers and manufacturers.

The Delahaye 134 was an iconic model for the French automotive brand. It was introduced in 1933 at the Paris Motor Show, along with the 138, with which it shared a stiffer chassis and independent front wheels, a first for Delahaye. The engine of the Delahaye 134 was a 2.1-liter four-cylinder derived from the engine of the brand's heavy trucks offering 50 hp.

The Delahaye 134 was an elegant car that won several auto races and was less expensive than the 138. It became very popular during World War II, when the French army used it for military duties. Today, the Delahaye 134 remains a sought-after model for vintage car collectors.
