18.03.2020 Expertise

We offer for sale this Citroën XM in a remarkable condition, it has always been very well maintained and pampered by its 3 owners. Its low mileage makes it very rare.

The paintwork is original, the vehicle has always been very well preserved, there are hardly any defects. The seats are in excellent condition, as are the dashboard and door panels. The underside of the vehicle shows no rust or leaks.

According to the current owner, the car was sold in September 1993 by a Swiss man (Bale), following his death, the car was then passed on to his daughter, who kept it for some time before selling it to a garage collector of old Citroen cars, who kept and cared for it for almost 10 years. The current owner, having bought it from this garage, has owned it for about 3 years.

In 1993, 20,977 examples were sold.

This car is made for you if you wish to invest in a vintage car while having a luxurious car thanks to its new technologies of the period, while keeping some power thanks to its V6 PRV developing 167 hp.

History of the model

The Citroën CX was 10 years old when Citroën decided to start working on its replacement. So, in 1984, the Y30 project started for what will give birth to a new car wanted more upmarket and especially more aerodynamic.

It is then that the Citroën XM is presented to the public on May 23, 1989 after 55 months of development (under the name Y30) to succeed the Citroën CX. In order to minimize the costs of the XM, Citroën will reuse the platform of the Peugeot 605, which had just been developed, while using its hydraulic suspension system, typical of the brand.

In April 2000, after 12 years of career, the production will stop when it will be produced only 25 copies per day, in the factory of Rennes. While Citroën envisaged 800 000 sales, it is only 333 405 models that they will sell

It will be ordered, for the presidency, a lengthened XM for the presidency.

Today it is already celebrated in the milieu as being the last true Citroën.
