We are offering for sale a superb 1978 VW Beetle, equipped with a 1800 cm3 engine entirely custom-built with performance-oriented parts and allowing this jewel to be driven on a daily basis. It has just undergone a complete restoration and is in near-perfect condition.

History

She was purchased approximately 5 years ago in barn-raised condition by her current owner. Its meticulous restoration, completed in September 2023, included a complete sandblast and new paintwork. Virtually all the body parts were replaced, and the front end was rebuilt. Since its restoration, the car has covered 1,000 kilometres.

The restoration included:

• 88 mm piston kit with thick liners
• 044 cylinder head with large 40/35 valves
• E4340 forged connecting rods 5,400/137 mm AAC 120 Engles
• CB Performance Magnaspark ignition
• Red Scat serpentine pulley kit
• Additional 1.5 l crankcase kit
• External oil filter

Details

The car is equipped with front disc brakes and the 4 original rims are available (in poor condition). The original engine, although dismantled and with compression problems, can be sold with the car.

Condition of the vehicle

Externally, the car is in near immaculate condition, with a resplendent paint finish. Inside, everything is in perfect condition: the seats, carpets and headlining are as good as new. Mechanically, the car is beyond reproach, ready to seduce a passionate new owner.
