History of the model

For some sports car enthusiasts, the mythical number "911" evokes the ultimate, uncompromising, do-it-all car. For eight generations, the Porsche 911 has become an icon thanks to its unchanged but perfected recipe of a flat-6 engine in a rear overhang, an easily recognisable design and great versatility. The 911 has developed its own identity from the very beginning, making technical choices and exceptional rigour that set it apart from all other cars. This explains why the Porsche 911 has a strong presence on the track, on the road and in the hearts of enthusiasts. Its timeless design and great versatility have created a unique aura that can only be found with the 911. For many people around the world, the 911 is the ultimate sports car and the choice of their dreams.

The SC, or Super Carrera, is a Porsche 911 that was introduced in the 1970s in response to customer demand for a more powerful and refined car than the Carrera 3.0 and 2.7. Despite a difficult start, the SC eventually became a car that was appreciated for its driving qualities. It was equipped with a 180 hp flat-six engine, which was less powerful than that of the Carrera 3.0 but smoother and easier to live with.
