Model history

The Fiat 500, also known as the "Nuova 500", was launched in 1957. Conceived as the successor to the Fiat Topolino, its mission was to provide post-war Italians with an affordable mobility solution. Small but sturdy, it was powered by a small 479 cm³ engine delivering just 13 hp, enough to carry families on their daily commutes.

In the 60s, a sporty version of the Fiat 500 was created in collaboration with Carlo Abarth. This was the Fiat 500 Abarth which, despite its meagre 26 hp, was considered a little bomb thanks to its lightness. The car became legendary in motorsport circles for winning numerous races in its class, often challenging much more powerful cars.

The Italian government declared the Fiat 500 an Italian National Heritage Site, alongside the famous Ferrari 250 GTO.

In 2007, Fiat reintroduced the Fiat 500 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original model. The new Fiat 500, while retaining its retro charm, has been modernized to meet today's standards. It is equipped with more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, including electric versions. With its iconic design and numerous customization options, it has quickly won over a new generation. Today, the Fiat 500, including the electric 500e version, continues to symbolize Italian ingenuity and passion.
