In 1950, Chevrolet launched a revolutionary design that has marked the automotive market for decades. The model that debuted with this design was the Bel Air, which at the time was a version of the Deluxe.
The Chevrolet Bel Air was produced from 1950 to 1981 through 8 generations (produced between (1959 - 1960)
During the year 1959, Chevrolet launched an all-new Bel Air series, from the front headlights placed in the lowest position allowed by law, to the "cat's eye" shaped tail lights, it was a brand new model.
As part of the 4th generation, the 1960 Chevrolet is no longer a top-of-the-line model, but a mid-range model offered by Chevrolet.
The name Bel Air comes from an upscale neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles.
