A Youngtimer, power, luxury and rarity, that's the Alpina B3 3.3 E46. Perfect for everyday or weekend driving (or both!), this Alpina is an opportunity to get 280 horsepower of pleasure, as well as a piece of the history of the famous BMW tuner.
Of German origin, the car was imported to Switzerland by its ex-owner in 2004, this one as meticulous as the current one. With only two owners to its credit, this rare and radiant Alpina B3, of German origin, was purchased 7 years ago in Basel by its current owner, and is now in Geneva, in impeccable condition.
The only non-original parts on the car are the Bilstein shock absorbers which have been homologated as well as an anti-trip bar, which can be removed without any problem. The original Bilstein shock absorbers are supplied with the vehicle.
The owner has looked after it over the last 7 years and has always carried out maintenance on time, just like the one before.
The car has a sunroof and cruise control.
It has its service book, all its original documents and many invoices.
The bodywork is flawless, it is radiant as proven by the various photos in the ad. Inside, the steering wheel, the rear seats, the knob and the woodwork seem to have been restored, but they are the originals. The door panels are in excellent condition. Only the front seats are slightly worn. Mechanics: No seepage or rust is visible on the engine or under the car.
The car is in a remarkable condition, we don't have much to say, except that it is splendid.
To sum up, this beautiful Alpina is clean in every respect, inside, outside and mechanically.
It's a great car;
In 1962, Burkard Bovensiepen used his father's typewriter factory to manufacture carburetion kits for BMW engines. Two years later, the kit was ready and gave the BMW 1500s an extra 10 horsepower, his work earned the praise of BMW himself, they even went so far as to guarantee the BMWs modified by Alpina.
In 1965, the Alpina company was created, they then entered competition in 1968 and won numerous titles including all the German championships. Niki Lauda even broke the absolute record for touring cars in the 6-hour race at the Nürburgring.
The brand with 20-spoke rims stopped racing in 1977 to concentrate on touring models, always improving or changing the engines of the BMWs to make them even more powerful, so in 1983, they obtained the status of car manufacturer. Alpina will become in the 90s the brand of power and elegance.
Switzerland will be one of the first 3 countries in which the brand will be presented.
Alpina will produce many successful models, here are some of them:
In December 1998, at the Birmingham Motor Show, the prototype of the E46 was presented by Alpina, equipped with a B3 3.2 engine. In 1999, at the Geneva Motor Show, Alpina unveiled the B3 3.3 based on the E46. Alpina later released the Touring, Cabriolet and B3 All Road (4x4) versions and then replaced the B3 with the B3 S.
As you may know, the Alpina logo is unique in that it represents a crankshaft on one side and a carburettor on the other!
