The history of the Fiat 500
After the famous Fiat Topolino manufactured between 1936 and 1955, Dante Giacosa manufactured the Nuova 500, which was produced between 1957 and 1975. Two versions will be available, the sedan (110) then the Giardiniera (120), in other words a kind of mini station wagon.
It will be called Fiat Nuova 500 to distinguish it from the previous model sold from 1936 to 1955, which was better known under its nickname "Topolino" it was also named "Mickey Mouse" which was also manufactured in France under license by the brand Simca, Simca 5 and 6. The nuova 500 was also manufactured under license by Steyr under the name Fiat Steyr 500 in Austria, Polski Fiat in Poland, Fiat Premier in India and Fiat-NSU in Germany.
The Italian government declared the Fiat 500 as an Italian National Heritage, just like the famous Ferrari 250 GTO.
