The history of the Fiat 500
After the famous Fiat Topolino manufactured between 1936 and 1955, Dante Giacosa manufactured the Nueva 500, which was produced between 1957 and 1975. Two versions were available, the sedan (110) and the Giardiniera (120), in other words a sort of mini station wagon.
It will be called Fiat Nuova 500 to distinguish it from the previous model sold from 1936 to 1955, which was better known under its nickname "Topolino" it was also named "Mickey Mouse" which was also manufactured in France under license by the brand Simca, Simca 5 and 6. The nuova 500 was also manufactured under license by Steyr under the name Fiat Steyr 500 in Austria, Polski Fiat in Poland, Fiat Premier in India and Fiat-NSU in Germany.
The Italian government classified the Fiat 500 as an Italian National Heritage, just like the famous Ferrari 250 GTO.
